Anti-war exhibit on view today
SPRINGFIELD TWP.: The Barberton-Norton Peace Group will host the anti-war exhibit ``Eyes Wide Open: Ohio'' today at 2745 S. Arlington Road near Killian Road.

The traveling display, which is a project of the American Friends Service Committee, uses 100 pairs of military boots and 100 pairs of men's, women's and children's shoes to represent the number of Ohio troops and civilians who have died in the Iraq war.

Each pair of boots carries the name, rank and hometown of a deceased Ohio service member. Each pair of shoes represents 100,000 civilian deaths. The show also includes information on war's effect on U.S. and world economies.
The free exhibit runs from 4 to 8 p.m. today, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

The Barberton-Norton Peace Group meets monthly. For more information, call 330-644-4249 or www.afsc.net/ewoohio.html.

Christian Peace Team hostages were remembered at this exhibit in light of recent deadlines regarding their fate...and the fact that Saturday was UN Human Rights Day...
